I have a living/dining room attached that is currently a goldish/olivish color- the room does not get alot of natural light and I was wondering if ppl had paint colors that made their darker rooms appear lighter. Thanks!

My friend recently painted her living room/dining room linen with white molding and it looks very nice.

only linen means the linen look ... if you pick up the linen colour - it almost looks like an ivory or yellowish ... so think of a linen suit and go for that ...

Warm colors really help in a room with poor light -- pinks, peach, gold, yellow tints can all work. People tend to look better in rooms painted in warm hues. If the ceiling is colored, paint it white to reflect light back into the room. What color is the trimwork in the room? What color is your furniture? Can you improve the lighting?

Get some paint chips and look at them in the room in both day and night lighting. Benjamin Moore sells some of their colors in 4-oz sample jars so you can test a color on a piece of plywood or foam core board to see how you like it.
