Oxford Freedom select (low co pay, no referrals needed) is quite good. Now we're on Oxford Liberty...$25 co-pays, poor prescription coverage (it costs us about $200 a month to keep living! shock) This is through is company. No choice.

Although if you're paying it's a different story. You need to research carefully (& if you're DH, make a spread sheet, he does that for everything Rolling Eyes LOL ) before you make a decision. Base it on your family's needs: do you need good prescription coverage, convenience of no referrals, low deductible, good maternity & pediatric benefits etc? And of course, value for money. Private (ie no shared cost with work) is very expensive.

If you go through a broker, he/she should give you something like that. A comparitive listing of companies, coverage and costs, broken down.

If you have doctors that you're happy with, you have to factor that in- are they in-network for your new insurance? Is it worth it to change, etc?

Also, depending on your situation, a lower premium/higher deductible may be an option.

Good Luck!
