According to The Learning Channel, Mackynzie Renee Duggar was born at 6:39 p.m. Thursday. Mackynzie is the first child of Josh and Anna Duggar and the first grandchild for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, stars of TLC's "18 Kids and Counting."

Mackynzie's birth comes as Michelle Duggar is pregnant with her 19th child. She is due in March.

Josh, the eldest of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar's children, is 21. He and Anna married last fall.

The network says Anna Duggar and Mackynzie are doing well. The baby weighed 8 pounds and was 19.5 inches long.

I wonder why she didn't choose a name for her daughter that started with the letter 'J' like all the other Duggars.

Do you always do things the same way your parents did?

Maybe all of their kids will have names beginning with "M", or they may just name them whatever they want.

That's grand, I'm really happy for them.

Still, I wonder what would happen if one of the kids ended up struggling with infertility... in a family like that it must be unbearable.

The letter thing is so weird. I thought J was for J E S U S. Why not just name a child after the person and be normal about it?

I think she meant to name one kid after him and give the other kids different names that begin with any letter.

I mean, I thought they chose to use the letter J as initial for Yoshke ( J e s u s). I find it weird. Reminds me of Magda Goebbels who named all her children in H after uncle Dolfi.

George Foreman has 10 kids. The boys are George Jr., George III, George IV, George V and George VI. Two of the girls are Freeda George and Georgetta. The other girls have random names.

aren't all michael jackson's kids named michael (in one way or another?)
