I am getting into photography, and really enjoy it a lot. I find that a lot men do it, and I go to a couple of boards for photographers. I did a search here, and came up with a few women who also like photography. I was wondering, what do you all like to take pictures of, and what cameras do you have, etc. I was hoping some others would want to talk about it as well.

Maybe we can even post a few pictures?

That is not my house, but I liked that tree a lot. I used a polarized filter to get the sky so blue.

There is a tiny lady bug near the top of the flower. It is sort of hard to see in the smaller version of that picture.

We went to a place called Out of Africa when I was visiting my mom two weeks ago. You can take pictures of the animals from a deck and there is no fence to get it the way. It was really neat.

I am also getting into it. I like taking pics of my kids, and close ups in general. I am not yet good at taking pics of a lot of ppl together from further back. I also like taking scenery pictures. I have a canon powershot A 95 and love it.

I love photography and actually took a course (out of the states) which I really loved. we had to take some photos and it was so interesting. I love seeing things in a dif angle in general. I think that a photographer can see beyond things and see everything from a different perspective., whats great about a photographer, is that can bring the beauty in everything- even if its something ugly... he can show how ugly that is....
I use a regukar camera in the meantime, but g'd willing I'll get a professional one.. I'm thinking on getting the nikon s80 I think its called....
really nice photos...

I'll add some of mine. I also like photography!
I'm glad you started this thread. I love to look at well-taken photos.
Those are gorgeous!
I keep trying to get such a juicy tree photo, but it always comes out dull.
And the rose? Totally professional! Insects on flowers is my passion too!

Our neighbor Smile

I think this is a locust. In any case, I know one of the main rules of photography is not to cut off any part of your subject, unless you are focusing on a certain area. But my kids were all over me to see it, so that is that.

And some more, which include my kids:

There was a tree that was chopped down in the park because the trunk was eaten out. Here is my toddler looking at me through the eaten-out hole in the trunk:

amother, it doesn't end in .jpg so it won't work. You need another hosting site.
(You can load straight from facebook onto photobucket, just choose to load from a URL and not from your computer.)

Mali, the 2nd picture with the reflection is so original. Love it!

I love the creativity! The pomegranates are just gorgeous.

I have a Nikon D40. I have several lenses, although I mostly use my Sigma 18-50 f/2.8. Nikon is coming out with a replacement for the D40, the D60. There is a lot of talk that in the spring they will come out with the D90 to replace the D80. (I think that is the one smiley:) was referring to.)

I was at a lake one day.

Our menorahs (not a great shot, IMHO)

I am having a hard time right now finding things to take pictures of. The weather isn't terrific, and it seems so boring outside. I like the picture of the stop light as well. (I love pictures of EY.)

To all you photography buffs: I have a tip for you. There is a company in Manhattan called IGPC which makes postage stamps for most of the third world countries. They are always in need of various photographs which they will buy from you for a nominal fee if you have good ones on the subject matter they are looking for. (This includes drawings also by the way). I happen to know that they may be doing a project for a sheet of Israel stamps so if you have any great photos on Israel and you think it would be fun to have your shot on a postage stamp, email them via their website www.igpc.net to find out how to send your photos in for consideration and also ask what other subjects they may be doing. I think they were doing cats also.
