I do understand that. But that was precisely my point. In certain circumstances you need to do just the opposite of what's done in a healthy relationship. But to give that as advice and stating it's ok to do bec that's how her parents and inlaws did that, is not sage advice and not a done thing. It's continuing an unhealthy pattern.
