Op, u said u would have to take over for another employee who is taking leave soon. While surely the company wouldn't want u to just leave wen they expect u to take over, but at the same time, if u feel like u would make many mistakes with lasting effects bec they didn't train u properly, then I think u should speak to the boss.
Someone above posted that u should explain that u were not trained so....
In addition, I dont think its a good idea to wait to get fired"" bec its not good for ur resume/work history. Its better to leave on good terms but u may want to have another job lined up so u can continue earning money.
