I wonder if you turn off your lights (disconnect the battery) before Shabbos if it would be allowed to open and close the car door/trunk on Shabbos? If yes, you can store food there. Wrap up warmed up chulent in a towel right before Shabbos possibly with hot packs surrounding it (ask a LOR if you can do that); it should stay warmish or at least room temperature till Shabbos morning. |
This is a really good idea! If we put up a chulant over the fire on friday and can store it in the car that might really work.

OOC, where in the Adirondacks are you going camping? Are you skipping Lake George?

We'll probably visit, but we'd like to camp in a less busy place. We're thinking more north, near Ticonderoga.

Sorry j was last to read the full thread so hopefully what I say won’t be a reputation.
A few things to keep in mind:
1 eruv
2 tissues in the bathroom but if you have your own, you don’t have to worry about carrying
3 if you have a way to keep things plugged in in your car without lights turning on, ask your rav but could be you can keep food hot there (we did it with a truck)
4 you can have a separate Food tent where you keep things plugged in but it’s fully enclosed so animals can’t get in- put around The outlet
5 you shouldn’t be washing over the grass
These were the things that came up when we camped out over shabbos.
Have an awesome time!!
