Some are comparable, some cheaper in one or the other. But I have the Walmart credit card which gives 5% the first year so much less...

Is the great value salsa brand kosher? I can't see symbol on the app.
If not, any other brands on Walmart kosher?
Thank you!

Yes, it is. And if you zoom you can see half an ou on the side.

I also didn't notice it at first, but my husband was able to make it out.

Just double check when you receive the item because not everything has a he here even though on the website it does.

I bought bread once and my package didn’t have a hechser. I do remember when on vacation seeing some of their bread kosher that wasn’t kosher by me.

Reposting a list (not complete) of items I buy at Walmart. In most cases the Great Value brand is just as good as name brand.

Note that we keep Cholov Yisroel, Pas Yisroel so I can only get pareve items there and no baked goods.

produce (I check my own lettuce)
pasta
egg noodles (they don't have fine, I get that at kosher stores)
pasta sauce
pizza sauce
tomato sauce
applesauce (jars, small cups, pouches)
canned beans (kidney beans, chickpeas, green beans, corn - we hold that's not a problem for bishul)
ketchup
mustard
barbecue sauce
mayonnaise
salad dressing
peanut butter
jelly
instant mashed potatoes
salt and spices
taco shells
vinegar (white, apple cider)
olive oil
rice (jasmine and sticky)
quinoa
couscous mix
chow mein noodles
frozen fruit (mango, peaches, blueberries, cherries - don't need a hechsher per CRC)
frozen vegetables (green beans, mixed vegetables)
freeze pops
italian ices
popsicles
puff pastry (pepperidge farms)
rhodes dough (good backup for challah, also use for doughnuts)
pizza dough
flour
sugar (white, brown, confectioners)
honey
cocoa
pie filling (cherry, apple, blueberry)
duncan hines cake mixes
frosting
decorating icing
fluff
juice (apple, orange, cranberry-raspberry)
bottled water
snapple
soda
seltzer
tea bags
iced tea mix
coffee
eggs
almond milk
soy milk
margarine (tubs and sticks)
cereal (we do corn and rice only - others we hold need bishul)
instant oatmeal
oatmeal canisters (quick and old-fashioned)
granola bars (I personally don't eat them but DH holds they're fine)
raisins
craisins
tortilla chips
corn chips
salsa
popcorn kernels
peanuts, cashews, almonds, mixed nuts
fruit roll ups
laffy taffy
airheads
twizzlers
chumus

In most cases I buy the Great Value brand which is cheapest.

Of course I also buy dry goods:
toilet paper
tissues (now rarely in stock...)
paper towels
bounty napkins
straws
ziplock bags
parchment paper (sheets and roll)
foil
paper plates (cups, cutlery are all cheaper in Jewish stores)
dishwasher detergent
dish soap
sponges
laundry detergent
shampoo/conditioner/body wash
hand cream
deodorant
bath sponges
hair brushes
q-tips
toothbrushes
toothpaste
flossers
bandaids
pads
baby wipes (diapers are cheaper from amazon)
baby powder
diaper cream
OTC meds
athletes foot spray
pregnancy tests
light bulbs
printer paper
school supplies
arts and crafts items

Thanks for this list. Can you link the pasta sauce? Can’t find one that has an OU

Barilla is cheaper in Wal Mart but for some reason the Francesco rinaldi brand is way more expensive in Wal Mart than in Jewish stores.

Speaking of Walmart, I decided to buy their 1.99 small-medium loaf pans since I spend a ton on disposables when I make challah.

Now I've been making challah for close to 2 decades and have developed my own recipe based on my family's preferences. After making my last batch in these pans for the first time, dh said "honey I didn't think your challah could get any better but for some reason this week it's even more amazing than usual."

So I guess I recommend their loaf pans?

Are the loaf pans disposable or not?

You can link your checking account to the target app and get 5% off each purchase without even having to get their credit card. Highly recommend! I’ve saved a ton of money with it.

Look at the debit option here - https://www.target.com/redcard

Gourmet Glatt has it on sale now for $2.99. It's over $5 in Wal Mart.

Barilla sauce is, I think, $2.49 in Wal Mart.

Recently started buying the Pretzilla buns at Walmart. They're pareve and pas yisroel!
Warning that they don't last well at all. We either use them in two days or freeze (they get moldy way before the use date on the package, even if still sealed)
Also I don't know if anyone mentioned the Rhodes dough rolls. I take 9 rolls and put in a round pan to let rise for 6 hours. Tada - a pull apart challah that's delicious. They're also great for mini pizzas. And pas yisroel because you're baking them yourself
