RRAR.... im so upset-my mushrooms disappeared:( while im in the middle of making a mushroom sauce:(
and nothing around me is open today:(
so, does anyone know how I can make a mushroom sauce-without mushrooms?

It will probably be a cream sauce as opposed to a mushroom sauce. Can't be too bad.

What's it for? Can you make an onion type of sauce instead? Do you have mushroom soup mix or anything like that?

its for an onion kugel.... I've already fried the onions and I was getting ready to get out my mushrooms.... when they disappeared:(

so forget the mushrooms and forget the sauce ... just grate onions and add black pepper & salt to the noodles before frying/baking ... deliciouso ...

you can make a celery sauce instead we do that on pesach, chop up celery add to fried onions spices water and cornstarch to thicken

im thinking I could prob just make a craem sauce...
ill fry the onions and add mushroom soup mix mixed with water and flour....
do you thik that will work?

Yeah, if you have mushroom soup mix, that will enhance the flavor...it won't be quite the same, but it should be fine.

the onion kugel is not like alokshen kugel or potato kugel... its more like a fancy onion knish (boureka) kinda thing... so it DEF! needs a saccue!1

Make onion sauce, can't be bad. Try sauted onions, little salt and flour, maybe some onion msg free soup mix.

I make an onion sauce with diced onions, tablespoon or more of flour, white wine, salt and pepper. You add the flour to the onions when they're soft, and then add the liquid.
If you don't have white wine, you can add water (or sy milk) that is mixed with chicken consoumme
