It is really good, a little too sweet but the kids like it a lot. I really want to make it I hope someone has the time to put up the recipe, I really wanted to make it for Rosh Hashana.

Here you go. It's easy to make and is soo good and always a hit!

3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup canola oil
1 large egg
1 tsp. baking powder
3 Granny Smith apples; peeled, cored, cut into cubes
Cinnamon
1- 21 oz. can strawberry pie filling

Preheat to 350. Combine first 6 ingredients and mix with finger tips til crumbs. Sprinkle 1/3 of crumbs on bottom of 9X13. Top with apple pieces. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Top with another 1/3 of the crumbs. Pour strawberry pie filling on. Top with crumbs. Bake uncovered for 1 hour.

Oh boy, that sounds easy and delicious!! But more as a dessert than a kugel. Easy too.

Strawberry Pie filling comes in a can near the baking supplies. Just look for one with a heckscher.

The brand I use is Lucky Leaf, it is in a green colored can. You can find it by the baking section with the other pie fillings, or sometines by the canned fruits.

I love this recipe. but I use cherry pie filling since that is my favorite. I know others who use blueberry pie filling.
in fact, my sister was describing this wonderful blueberry kugel she had at someones house and I realized that it was this recipe!!

I made it with blueberry and had it somewhere with cherry too and you're right- it's great with most any pie filling flavors.

Does anyone think this would work with fresh strawberries on top? or will it only work with a filling?
