Thanx Everyone!

Quote:
Is that an Imamother success story?

LOL!

Here's the story:
5:00 AM woke up with funny cramps
6:00 AM went to the bathroom and saw blood, completely freaked out
7:00 AM called my midwife, she told me to come down to the hospital, the cramps were terrible by then- I was doubled over in pain
8:30 AM got to the hospital- the cramps has practically subsided
9:30 AM all the routine stuff were finished, my midwife says I'm open to a 6 shock
about 10:15 I started having real contractions, not just the cramps, and they hurt enough that I asked for an epidural. the nurse told me I have to wait until the labwork comes through on the blood she took from me.
I waited and waited and waited....
about 10:45 BOOM SPLASH, my water broke suddenly- Thank Hashem I was in the bathroom!
my midwife checks me and says I'm open to an 8-9
11:05 she tells me I can push shock
OOOUUUCCCHHHH! Next time I'm getting an epidural just for the pushing part!!!!!! (b"n)
I told my midwife that I'm going to rip myself right in half.
11:16 AM baby is born!

Thank Hashem it's over! I was about a week overdue. The baby is adorable ka"h.
May we share more simchas together!

(Did you even mention you were expecting?? I prob. missed it...)

Mishie, I actually let it slip once when I forgot to post as amother. and Supermom, why are you so surprised??? you did the same thing!

Thanx Rochel Leah for coming on just for this. Are you all settled?

The baby weighs 7 lbs 1 oz. We came home last night after spending exactly 30 hours in the hospital after delivery. I had a crazy roommate, and was horribly embarrassed. She was the only other Jewish mother in the Catholic hospital, and you can't imagine how she was acting towards the nurses. shock

Amother, I find it hard to answer a personal question being asked publicly by someone I don't "know," but I think it's pretty obvious anyway that the last two times I had an epidural.
That being said, my labor this time was so drastically different from the last two in both intensity and frequency of the contractions, never mind the entire labor from beginning to end was only a few hours. With the last two the pushing was a breeze, and this time it was pure torture. After the baby was born I didn't have an ounce of strength left in my body to move. I could barely hold the baby. I couldn't smile or talk. I had used every single bit of strength to push the baby out and it took a little while to regain just a bit to push out the placenta. I didn't rip or need stitches or anything like that, but I was aching terribly. I couldnt get up for a long time. When I had the epidurals though, I had no pain from pushing at all. I wasn't worn out, I was able to hold my babies and nurse right away. I got up as soon as they let me. My point is that next time I would have to do the decision-making all over again because you really don't know what the labor is going to be like until it's all done and over with. Neither type of labor is ideal for me, pain-free or drug-free. There are pros and cons to both and no middle ground as far as I know. Those that know and are able to experience their ideal labors, I'm happy for them. I didn't intend to do it drug-free but B"H Hashem had other plans in store which included many unexpected pleasant surprises throughout, such as a bump-free traffic-free taxi ride to the hospital Very Happy, an absolutely fantastic nurse during labor and delivery, and other little things which make the experience either good or bad.

Thank you everyone for your Mazel Tov's and brochos.
