You have to do what is best for you! It's your house and your decision. You can invite guest when you feel up to it and chose whom you want to invite. Usually weekend is friday afternoon and serving kugal and ferfel or something like that is nice. Sunday you can serve a brunch and thats it.

oh, and you might want to inform your relatives that you purchased a private vacation home, not a hotel, and that guests will come up at your invitation only. any guest who requests an invitation will be expected to partake in shabbos prep if and when they come. I think this is only fair.
I would probably take it further by showing them listings of houses for sale in the area if they feel this policy unfair, but I suspect most people would find that rude
