An elderly relative calls my son "oitzerleh", which I love so much, because you can hear how much she treasures him I'm her voice.

I call my baby so many names that I am a little worried that she won't recognize her actual name. My dh just made me aware of it, so I've been more conscious of using her given name. Some of her Nicknames/endearments are:
Princess, my love, funny face, love muffin (or stink muffin when she has a full pamper), snuggle bunny, boo-bah, buh-buh, chicken (iI don't know why!... etc...
It's not so much the words that matter, but the feelings that you convey when you say them!
