My kallah teacher didn't charge a set fee, she said whatever one could afford is fine...I'd suggest asking the kallah teacher herself

You should ask her how much she charges. I paid $550 10 years ago.

Mine wouldn't take any money. I gave her a check (for around $100) for her to give to the tzedakah of her choice. This was in NY 4 years ago

Ask her.

Mine didn't ask for anything personally. She just asked that I make a donation to their synagogue (she left the amount up to me).

I think it's better to ask. I asked and my kallah teacher did not want payment. I gave her a thank you gift.

Wow, I am amazed to read the amounts people are quoting here. I got married 10 yaers ago and did not pay anything. She said to give some tzedaka in name of the class, but that was it.

Isnt 550 dollars a lot for such a thing?

Uhm no. Don't people pay for gowns, flowers, makeup, music, halls, caterers etc etc
Well as a kallah teacher I dedicate between 10 and 12 classes per student totalling an average of about 25 hours. I expect to be compensated like you pay for any other service.(or class)

Agree with amother above. I personally don't charge Kallahs from my Shul as I feel it's part of the package as my husband's job. For everyone else I say pay what you can. However, please note that we spend at least 15-20 hours face to face plus lots of time emailing, on phone dealing with issues ranging from Bedikahs to shalom bayis issues. It does bother me when money is paid freely for everything but this. If someone doesn't have the money that's a different story.

My parents paid. $500 is a logical amount for the hours. It's more valuable than other classes I've been to, it's a one time course of big importance. If yours, or your daughter's kallah teacher doesn't specify a police, be generous. It's more important than flowers on the chuppah.

I am a kallah teacher in the beginning years I didnt charge an amount and said to give me what they felt they were up to. Then came the years were it was hard to juggle the home and teaching the girls, so I asked a shaila and they told me that if I want to give private lessons to kallahs and give it over with all I got, it has to be like a job were you know your get paid in the end!
