Looking for ideas for a 30th birthday gift for my amazing niece. Here are some parameters:

1. I need to be able to send it to Israel (from the U.S.), so nothing fragile and nothing too bulky or heavy.

2. She is ultra-chareidi so nothing like reading material or music.

2a. I don't want to send her a sefer.

3. SHE DOESN'T HAVE PIERCED EARS!! (I put that in all caps, because my fallback gift for my daughters and other nieces when I can't think of anything else is earrings, but....)

4. She is classic and elegant in style -- wouldn't go for anything faddy or loud.

5. They are a kollel couple and so I want whatever I get to be something of a treat.

Any thoughts??

I would particularly like to hear from people in their late 20's and early 30's, because I am older than that and my kids are younger so I don't have a clue.

Thank you!

I thought of that but she doesn't live in a city and I can't imagine her taking the time (with 4 kids) to go into yerushalaim (the closest one) to get a spa treatment.

My daughter likes jewelry on Etsy. She said they have nice necklaces and bracelets AND earrings for non-pierced ears in that price range. I've given one of her friends a choker of small freshwater pearls --right in your price range.

Do you have someone who would like to chip in with you? Maybe a nice Shabbos robe? Or how about a cookbook?

I actually thought of a cookbook but I don't know what ones in Ivrit are good.

Funny you say that, smokey, I was just looking online to see if I could find a way to order her something from Sabon. I live their stuff. (If anyone asks you what to get me for my (deleted) birthday, I would love a wonderful rich body lotion, preferably with some matching shower gel.

I second a gift certificate to Sabon. $30 will go far in Israel, and she can get something as practical or impractical as she want.

I think the suggestion for a gift certificate is a great idea. Laline is also a nice store

A babysitter and pool or gym membership or one month pass. She may want that but can't justify paying for it.

This may sound like a dumb question but I am "charedI light." Is there a chance she doesn't use perfume or perfumes products?

I know some people who don't use perfume, but I believe most everyone uses body lotion or body wash.

Be careful with scents. I see it suggested as a gift often. I don't like perfume and I'm picky about my body wash. I see that others would be thrilled with such a gift.
