funny. a few weeks ago Mishpacha had a big edition, some milestone and loads of writers were featured there. Riva didnt write anything and I noticed right away. I told my mother there must be something going on here...

Riva is the reason I began - and still buy Mishpacha. I'll miss her. And her characters.

Esther Sender left for Ami? She made it sound like she'd said what she wanted to say in this format but I had no clue she was moving.
As for Riva, I guess I'll have to wait till her next one comes out in book form (why is Ami so fast about making books while Binah drags? I'm still waiting for The Grey Coats or whatever EG's Civil War book is called). But will there be any overlap with Peri Berger, especially if Riva feels she can be more unplugged?
And Mishpacha readers, have heart, Miriam Zakon's back!

Miriam's serial has me hooked like no other frum serial has before!
I get so engrossed! It's riveting without being gossipy, you know what I mean?
(Not that I didn't love all the other serials- but this is a whole new level.)

If you'd like to read some elegant writing, read Jerusalem Diaries. And The Cohens of Tzfat.

I am also really enjoying it and I don't go for a lot of historical fiction.

Yes, I LOVE Miriam's serial. Such beautiful prose; I totally feel like I'm there in the scene.

And I am finding it much less shleppy and artificially stretched out than the typical serial. The storyline moves along nicely each week in a natural way.

Looks like she'll be joining the Ami Living Magazine. Just curious how op knew that she was leaving to a different magazine, because I did not get that impression from Mishpacha's farewell message last week.

I like the Ami Living but was never impressed with serials. I think it will be nice to have good stories in both magazines.

ugh so sick that she left to that horrible magazine ami. AMI can't make it so they have to steal mishpachas writers ugh. I won't buy there magazine they are a fraud and copy of mishpacha through and through!!!!!!!

Maybe I will consider buying her books but def not buying ami!
