Wash them? Put them away and tell the kids, "too bad, ride on your bike, go outside, read a book," get 1-2 new toys for pesach?

Sell and buy a few new toys for pesach.
This is what we're doing this year.
Something else might work for next year.

Blow torch them.
Kidding.
When kids were babies, things that went into the mouth (I guess that's almost everything) were put away and sold and I got a few new things to make due with for a week. Once past the age of things going in the mouth, toys just get a quick wipe down.

My kids are older now so it's mostly games. Quick peek for crumbs in each box. They use it on Pesach, just not directly on the Pesach'dik table.

I store them away, and I have seperate toys for pesach. I know as par halacha, toys only need to be checked for chamatz the size of a cheerio or larger, but my kids are so excited to have the pesach toys! It's a change of scenery for them. I also buy a new toy or game every yr, some stays part of the pesach collection, and some we continue to use all yr.

Store some
Check through/clean for no obvious, big chometz
Don't play with them on eating tables
Buy a couple new games that can be played with on the table

Interesting, I only have little ones so I just vacuumed out the toy box and went over every toy to make sure there was nothing stuck to any of them. Adult board games will get checked and only played on the floor while kids are asleep since we do sometimes snack while playing, though we're pretty good about keeping the games clean.
The bigger question, IMO, is about sefarim that may have come to the table.
ETA- whoever thinks I'm nuts for doing that much with the toys- it took less than half an hour. No, there's unlikely to be big crumbs in a book, but absent-mindedness in dh and some family who visit mean I'm paranoid someone will forget and bring a book to the Pesach table.

My sefarim aren't dumpsters for huge crumbs.

I check through each box for crumbs. Clean any obviously dirty pieces. I don't sell them. I don't really have a way to lock them up anyway. My toys are in bins on shelves. There are 5 days of shabbos and yom tov, no way I could afford enough new toys to replace them.

Benchers that can have chametz stuck to them (have bachurim guests often) I put away where I sell. The other sefarim, we just vacuum the lower shelves that can be reached by kids, especially the bottom shelves, as bachurim aren't so careful and challah crumbs gets there (open shelves, near table). The sefarim that dh wants to use pesach on the table, he shakes out and wipes off.

Sorry, was editing my post while you posted
If it were just dh, that might work, but I don't know what books other relatives will take out (or remember what they've taken out). We have way more sefarim than toys to check at the moment, though we also put benchers away to be sold.

So a quick shake off and wipe off is enough.
I have tons of sefarim too, a whole long dining room wall (built in). The shelves that we vacuum, we shake out too when we take it out to vacuum.

Thank you- your advice is helpful! What would you do with sefarim that are quite old and out-of-print (inherited or bought used)? Truth be told, I'm more sure those haven't come to the table since we're more careful with them, but I don't remember for certain.

The halacha with mashehu is only "in the food" not even a crumb of chametz may be "eaten" pesach. Therefore toys can't be put onto table during pesach. But everywhere else, the halacha is the size of a cheerio or larger.

If you have time and energy, shake and wipe off too, or else, leave it be.

I don't have many toys and the ones I have I can't use on YT. But I guess I will have to give the Smartphone a good cleaning. At least it has a touchscreen rather than a keyboard. Cleaning a keyboard is a Project with a capital P when people eat at their computer.

We just don't put toys on the table during pesach.

Sell the Play-Doh.
Check other toys briefly, clean their containers, and keep them away from the table.
And we bought a few new toys.
Oh, almost forgot, we'll wash the rubber duckies.
