(posted with Yael's agreement)

At the threshold of the holiest day of the year I come here to appeal to the hearts and souls of my dear sisters, rachmonim b'nei rachmonim:

My very dear friend is struggling with life-threatening health issues. About two years ago her doctor told her ''You have a few months left; I think you should get your affairs in order''. My friend was not surprised to hear it, neither was she willing to accept it. For some time she had been telling me, ''I feel my body is slipping away.'' I could not stand by and watch her slip away. I could not imagine her children losing her. So I undertook a fierce campaign to do whatever is in my capacity to help her get well. Though she is a gentle soul, my friend is fierce about matters of importance. She too has undertaken a fierce campaign to recover. It is now two years later and she is still here! Her plan is to make a complete recovery. I am 100% behind her plan and I believe she can recovery fully given the opportunity [ aka money Smile ]

Many people, friends and strangers alike, have contributed toward her recovery. And she still has a way to go. I am now turning to you with an opportunity to be a part of this great mitzvah! Your donations go directly toward saving my friend's life!

(I am not the most gifted writer, so if you have the gift for it and are up for editing the campaign please let me know. Thanks!)

(If you wish to write a check please pm me for the name of the shul and for address to mail check to)

May this mitzvah be a meilitz yoshar for all of us!

With best wishes for a G'mar Chasima Tova!

Please pm me with any questions you may have. I would like to remain focused on the intended goal therefore I will prioritize those pm's that are l'toeles.

I know the woman in need personally. I can vouch that she is a wonderful woman and that she desperately needs a refuah.

Please, even a dollar or two will add up. May this year bring a refuah sheliema for all of us in need!

I want to acknowledge to all of you
Who
May take issue
With the fact that I'm new...
And though my posts hitherto
Have been so few
All I have written is true
(Yael can confirm it too)
So please consider donating a dollar or two....
Or a hundred or two....
Or a thousand or two....
To a fellow mama, a devoted Jew,
Just like you.
Desperate to make her dream for recovery come true Smile

In all honesty
If you listen to me
And donate a dollar or three
I can rest easy
knowing that my dear friendee
Is getting the support she needs Smile

I'm trying to come up with a way of bumping this thread so it can get some well-intentioned attention Smile Your suggestions are welcome Smile

Tomorrow is the day
Many of us will pray
For a year of less ''oy vey''
And a year of more ''hurray'',
So let us not delay
And help my friend pay
For her recoveray Smile
So that you may
To Hashem say:
''I have helped a dear mother today,
In this z'chus make my harships fade away''

Thanks! I called and left a message. Do you know the process for verifying? Perhaps I could expedite by having her rav call them?

I'm not familiar with the process but I do know that I personally have only donated to campaigns that were verified - and I'm assuming some other ppl (who don't read imamother!) do too.
A rav calling sounds like a good idea

1. a verified campaign is more credible

2. anonymous campaigns usually don't do very well

3. bumping this thread up every hour is only going to annoy people and make them less likely to contribute. once a day is sufficient.

I know this wont help your friend, but I have seen it a few times here about needing trauma work for cancer. What exactly is trauma work and how does it help cancer? I know someone also battling. Does this work for everyone?

Thanks for orienting me to this board's etiquette and culture. I apologize for the frequent bumping. I have done ''tshuva'', as you may have noticed.

The Chesed Fund is in the process of verifying the campaign. Hopefully by Sunday it will be done.

Many thanks to all who have responded! May the mitzvah serve to be a mailitz yosher for all of us!

What is listed on the ChessedFund is only a tiny fraction of this woman's challenges. If you knew her whole story your heart would break in a million pieces. Hashem should save us all from such a situation!

I am not at liberty to discuss her circumstances, but if my reputation on this board means anything, please belive me.

I had her in mind so much this YK. She suffers so much every day, and she is such a special person. I only wish I had the words to convince you how very deserving she is of help at this time.

If you truly cannot spare a single penny, please at least post her appeal on your social media. In that merit may you be blessed with parnossa for all your needs this year.

I wasn't able to include all the details on the campaign because to include all of it would take up at least one book. (Besides, I was in a hurry when I wrote it up so it may be a bit sloppy).
I accompany my friend to every specialist and doc's visit so I'm very familiar with the extent of her issues. It is truly a life-threatening situation. If someone has good writing skills and would like to improve on the Chesed Fund campaign, shoot me a pm. Her doc says she may need a trach soon enough, and I'm hoping if the campaign picks up she can afford the therapies and treatments that would stabilize her to the point of not needing the trach. I can't imagine her having to live with a trach Sad
