I spend too much money on blended iced coffees, and besides, I want to drink iced coffee on my own time without having to shlep anywhere.
I want to learn to make my own at home but first, I need a recommendation for a blender that would be good for iced coffee, and secondly, I need a good recipe. And any other tips/ suggestions that could help me become more independent in feeding my iced coffee addiction! :-)
Thanks

I can recommend a blender that makes enough for 1-3 people ( depending how much you make) but not more

Following. And I'd take a recommendation for a small blender since my husband doesn't like coffee.

I make myself blended ice coffees several times a day with this:
https://www.amazon.com/Hamilto.....ender
The quality isn't amazing (one broke after a year) but the price is, especially since it comes with two jars. (The jar is the part that broke).
Here is my recipe, adapted from Overtime Cook:
1 scoop coffee (however much you usually put in a regular cup)
1 heaping spoon instant vanilla pudding mix
boiling water to dissolve
milk until 8 oz
squirt vanilla (optional)
ice cubes to fill (about 7)

I don't have an exact recipe, but I love to use caramel syrup and vanilla syrup. About the ratio of 2:1 caramel:vanilla
Similar to a caramel macchiato

Make a strong coffee with all the additions that you like and freeze in an ice cube tray. Blend with milk.
Since it's not just water, the ice cubes crush easier and you get a really smooth drink. I use an inexpensive immersion blender in a 4cup measuring cup.

Thanks!
For some reason, it's only available through one of the sellers on Amazon, not through Amazon directly. I'll have to look around for it.

I knew that checking a thread like this while fleishigs is going to be a bad idea. I shouldn't have had last night's leftovers for lunch.

Decently. Sometimes you need to pulse it a couple of times instead of holding down the button. It's not amazing quality but I use it a lot and am very happy with it overall.

I use one of these http://amzn.to/2zgxYpT and have for several years and it's going strong still. I love it because it's super easy to clean and I don't have to worry about spilling like my old blender which had issues with the gasket.
I sometimes use flavored coffee powders and just make it in the blender with a lot of ice and a little water. My boys like to make a strong coffee and add chocolate syrup and I don't want to know how much sugar, and lots of ice and some extra milk if needed.

I have a vitamix and it's amazing but expensive. It crushes ice really, really well though.
