I liked it so much. Not to toot my own horn, but it was the best falafel I've ever eaten! It didn't have any of that horrible aftertaste and tasted the way I always expect falafel to taste like, but never does.

I'm not sure. This was my first time making them. Maybe if you sprayed them completely with oil it would work.

I don't think it really needs it, but I used a pepper sauce that I had.

Overall, I don't think it'll make or break anything.

I think the onions, garlic, and cumin provides most of the flavor.

You've made falafel from scratch and baked it in the oven and it came out fine?

(I'm not talking about the kind that you can buy frozen).

Ok, so to be clear, you have never baked falafel that you made from scratch? You are talking about the kind that you buy?

I just made the falafel balls tonight and they were very good, but I had to add more flour because the first batch fell apart and yes, the oil was hot enough.

I made these tonight, and they were so delicious and easy! Making falafel from scratch was something I never imagined doing in my life, but DS has allergies, so he can't have the ready made, or even from the mix, so I replaced the breadcrumbs with cornflake crumbs, and the flour with buckwheat pancake mix, and they were a million times better than the osem mix. The only thing is that in the middle they started crumbling...The first 10 were perfect, the next few started falling apart, so I cleaned out the oil a bit, added more, and made it hotter, and the last few were fine as well, so not sure what happened in the middle there.
Thanks, Defy - this is a recipe that is definitely going into the recipe book permanently.
