Well, my shortest and actually most enjoyable seder took place in my hospital room while on bedrest 7 years ago, it lasted an hour at most. They gave us a private room for 2 days so we didn't have to have someone else watching the going ons. This year my 7 year olds didn't last much past Ma Nishtana since they refuse to nap (even on Shabbos!) We are careful to eat the aficomen on time and I think we ate it a little earlier than the zman. We finished about 1 AM. We were only 4 adults so it didn't go on and on although we did talk a lot but sort of did most of the discussions during the meal. This one was actually my second best seder. Mostly because I wasn't hosting and that is what takes all the enjoyment out of it because it leaves me so exausted. Most seders my family came to me and we had other guests.

I guess it's a throw back to when I had little kids and got up early anyway. I never liked to stay up late.

ours lasted till about 2:30 & were beautiful. We had guests the 2nd night that kind of rushed through Hallel & Nirtza & then left. But we didn't let that disturb our seder.Dil wasn't too happy she was kvetching for a few weeks before that she can't sit for that long. But all the other kids really enjoyed. They all took naps, even the 3 yr old. So dil became in charge of him so she had excuse to get up from the table, try to put him to sleep, read him books, or whatever.
