In town is subjective. Everyone lives in town and anyone who doesn’t live where they live lives out of town. In town doesn’t only refer to certain communities.

To all of you that have problems with how I wrote this I'll know next time that I make such a poll to do only: Eretz Yisroel vs. Chutz Laaretz Banging head

That way Everyone is equal Applause

I tried to get it right, I did.

Excuse me, there are lots of Jewish communities in the UK and I wish people would be more aware!

Manchester
Gateshead
Golders Green
Stamford Hill
Hendon
Edgeware
Stanmore
Borhamwood
Westcliff
Canvey Island
Leeds
Did I miss any?

Please don`t lump us together with Europe. We are not part of the EU (European Union) anymore! Next poll, please do England Banging head

This poll has the UK separate from Europe. If someone wants to specify more, feel free to do so in the comments. I had maxed out the options, but tried to separate places that tend to have larger Jewish communities, for nuance.

Exactly. I never even heard the phrase in town or out of town out of this forum.

I heard it growing up because many girls in my class came from NY. I also heard it the one summer I went to sleep away camp.

Lol, the title - All inclusive.
At least people are acknowledging that there is even an out of town US.
My mom said that when she used to come from LA to camp, they would ask "So when did you come to America"..
Also years ago, my cousin was talking about a Simcha and she said "We couldn't do it in America so we had to go to Monsey"

It's just the UK peeps who are πŸ§‚for some reason. You can't please everyone, so I'd say you did pretty well.

OP If you compare the poll on the above thread to your poll you can understand why people feel a little frustrated.

Having Europe, other Asia, in town all as equivalent categories is kinda narrow minded IMHO.

OTOH it is totally absurd to list every single frum UK community the same way it would be absurd to list every single frum US community. The above poll seems way more balanced.
