There is an amazing and really easy one in the original Kosher Palette. It is with caramelized onions and balsamic vinegar. If you do not have the cookbook, let me know and I will try to post the recipe.

here's a very easy recipe I made last week and DH loved it!

Heat up olive oil in frying pan
Put in tuna steak for 1 minute.
Flip over. Do other side for another 2-4 minutes until it looks medium-rare.
(I don't remember, but I may have sprinkled salt'n'pepper in fish first)

Sautee thinly sliced onions in soy sauce for a few minutes.
Serve onions over steak.

Dip to go with it:
Make wasabi paste.
Mix with mayo.

Here's what I would do:

Grill or broil it.

Mango Salsa:

Chopped ripe mango
chopped cilantro
chopped bell pepper
chopped English hothouse cucumber
chopped red onion
lime juice
season with salt and pepper

Optional additions:
Chopped pineapple
Chopped orange supremes
Chopped ripe peaches or nectarines
Fresh orange and/or lemon juice

Got this from the guy who works in the fish store and it was great.

Marinate in a mixture of
- soy sauce
-balsamic vinegar
- honey

Pan sear on each side for under 7 min.

Be careful cause it dries out easily and then tastes like wood.

Sorry, got a bit distracted. Here it is, from Kosher Palette.
(It only makes 2 servings, obviously you can double, triple it etc.)

Sauteed Tuna w/ Caramelized Onions:
3 T. oil
2 large onions, sliced
2 med. tuna steaks
2 t. paprika, divided
salt and pepper
1 1/2 T. balsamic vinegar

Heat oil in large skillet over med. heat. Add onions and saute 10 minutes or until tender and golden brown. Move onions to side of skillet and place tuna in center of skillet. Sprinkle with half of paprika, salt and pepper to taste. Cook 5 minutes, turn and sprinkle with remaining paprika, salt and pepper.
Cook 5 minutes or until tuna is no longer red in center. If necessary add a drop of water to pan to help cook tuna. Don't let the onions burn...if they start to, take them out of pan and put on a plate. Remove skillet from heat and sprinkle vinegar on onions only. Serve tuna with onions. Sprinkle with parsley if you like.
Enjoy!!

Elf, this recipie seems like something.... I can't wait to try it! One thing though, I always find sautéing onions takes waaaaaaaaaay longer than 10 minutes, what's the secret? Another thing, how do you cut the onions? Circles, half circles, diced?

When a recipe calls for "sliced" onions (as opposed to rings, diced etc.) I usually cut the onion in half vertically, then lay each half down on the cut side and slice thinly that way. In terms of sauteeing, it doesn't usually take me that long....perhaps your flame is too low? Try raising it slightly and keep an eye on the onions so they don't burn...poke them around with a fork every couple of minutes...and you should be fine.

I make mine in the toaster oven. Sprinkle on olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper, and bake for about 10 minutes. The trick to tuna is undercooking it. I once tasted a Tuna Schwarma that tasted just like real schwarma and was served with pita, salad and tehina.

try a variation on that basic frying-pan method- dip each side in a mixture of sesame seeds, black pepper, and coarse salt..
yum.
extra yum for mixed black and white sesame seeds.
