Thanks, Ill pass that on - any one else want to chime in on the sem? I know it is not my decision, but am wondering why someone would send to Toronoto and not Israel once they are going away from home....

I don’t think you could compare going to Israel and going to a seminary an 8 hour drive away

I guess I was thinking about the loss of the "EY experience" and you don't even have your daughter close to home. Though it does sound to me like the "EY experience" of a decade+ ago is no longer what the girls are getting....

Neither. Both. It’s just different.
Families that dont want to send so far to Israel another continent, not sure about supervision, don’t see their kids all year… the expense! have another option. So their kids have an option to have a nice year away but it doesn’t have to be in Israel.

to answer the question about housing, we were only slightly considering it because we have a family house we might be able to live in - long story. But I don't want to go there if it isn't the right fit for us. |
I grew up in Toronto and married a true OOTer. DH says Toronto does not count as OOT, it is definitely "in town" just they think they are OOT.
Take that as you wish...
I don't live in Toronto anymore.
We are Chabad but I went to BY and I don't think for this issue it makes a significant difference.

At which BY school?
