It’s not the amount of oz that she’s eating it’s the way she eats it. I have to coax each oz down!! If I wouldn’t fight her to eat she would have 1.5 oz a bottle like 9oz a day

Definitely could be a start to teething. Try giving tykenol and see if the pain relief makes any difference

also make sure they don't have thrush which can cause sucking to be painful |
This was my problem. My 5 month old started fighting bottles when she was taking them fine before. I realized we still had the newborn flow. She was getting so mad at it. switched and she eats so well now.

OP, it sounds like she could go up a nipple level. Try the 6+ or 9+ months.
Also, see what happens if you don’t try to feed her as much. See if for a day or two she really just wants way less. Watch for about four wet diapers a day to make sure she’s not in danger of getting dehydrated (check with your doctor for a more accurate number). Maybe that will lessen the stress around feedings and make her comfortable. Also probably drop a night feed.

This sounds like my baby. First rule out the nipple problem but also consider this might be a reflux issue. We put her on reflux medicine which helped immensely bh

She can also be in fight mode. I find babies remember a fight really well. She needs a break from the fighting for a day or 2 so she forgets. Hopefully she’ll take the bottle happily afterwards, but please don’t force her a specific amount, don’t over feed her.

My son was like this. He had really bad reflux. Once I got him on the right meds and dosage he took the bottle beautifully.

What happens if you don’t feed her until she’s. Showing real signs of hunger? Some babies go 4 hours by day and sleep 6-8 at night. Try not to focus on ounces and instead let her show you when she’s ready.

And every time you coax and fight and pressure, her aversion gets worse.

I think you’re doing great for being so on top of things, how about for now try letting go a bit and seeing what happens. You mention it’s not about the ounces but you mention those couple ounces so it seems like it’s also about the ounces….
Bottle moms- where’s the flexibility at with bottle feeling? How do you know if it’s ok?
How can a mom relax?

If your doctor is not concerned and you trust your doctor then try to let it go. You can ask for more frequent weight checks if you are concerned

Have you checked her for thrush and teething?
I also agree that bottles at 8p, 10p and 12a are too much. Drop the 10pm one.

It sounds like your baby is getting enough formula. I d play around with the nipples and maybe try a new formula as well. My babies were never drinking 6oz bottles at 4 months. Is your baby happy between feedings?
