Another vote for cotton girls shorts.
If you don't like a short look, search for Bermuda shorts.

From my experience, no there isn’t. Not if you want skinny fit shorts…there’s leggings, there’s baggy shorts and then there jeggings cut into shorts.

I did have one tottini pair of shorts and they were okayish…maybe try that but they were stretchy and as comfortable as the jeggings.

My son has super super skinny legs so this is the only thing that works age appropriate. I also can use ripped pants this way instead of throwing them out. I'll prob stitch the rolled cuff down so it doesn't come out

We've bought these for a few years for shabbos and they worked really well for us - they used to come in dark grey and navy also, not sure if more colors will come out or this is all they have this year --

https://www.target.com/p/toddl.....metab

For weekday this year I bought from Old Navy, very happy with the fit - my son is almost 5 and I wanted shorts that look like they belong on a boy... He's picky about material and like how the cotton long pants felt - that's what he wore all winter and they had a nice tapered look. In the past I've bought from Target also, but sounds like you might like them tighter than I do? Hope this helps!

Hooray! I don't even have boys, I just felt bad that everyone is cutting their boys' pants to get a good fit... thought I'd try looking a little. Hope they work!

I learned to buy several sizes smaller in shorts. Cat & jack woven shorts always worked for my boys in at least 2 sizes smaller.

Are the skimmer shorts stretchy?
I wish there was a non button closure option for my 3 (closer to 4) year old. He has buttons on his shabbos pants and it’s a painful experience every time he needs to go to the bathroom, lol. During the week in the winter he wore cat n Jack jeggings or childrens place girls something or other. Both are pull on, fitted but not too fitted, and stretchy.

(But I’m not sure I’m allowed on this thread cuz my almost 4 year old has been wearing 4 and 5t jeggings this winter lol. He anything but tiny 😂)
