We are braving the drive and actually driving from Montreal to Miami for Pessach... thats a 2 day, all day trip.
I need tips on what to take with us to keep my 3 boys (2,4,6) occupied as long as possible. We have a DVD player in the car, but can they really watch 24 hours of video in 2 days or are they going to go crazy?
What can I take along to keep them entertained?

books. car games and toys - search online.
new dvd's.
food and drink.
singing silly songs.
dramamine.
napping.
license plate game.
looking out the window.
a stop in the psych ward for you.
(Dontknow how your even contemplating this. I cant do a 3 hr car trip with my 3 yr old and 8 m.o. w/o losing my mind.)

The way back will be cut up... I'm driving a few hours north for a few day vacation with the kids then going to Baltimore for shabbos and only driving the remainder on Sunday so I'm not as worried.

No - you take the Benedyl, you will sleep through all the noise.

chanie, it'll be ok! we did it a few times (once I had a 2 year old and a month old baby).
the kids will sleep more than you think, they'll get sleepy.
I do NOT recommend benadryl....one year we took an 8 hour flight before pessach so my dr recomended we give it to my then 18 months old baby....big mistake! he failed to mention that many times, it has the opposite effect - which is what happened, it made my baby really hyper, she only fell asleep as we landed! plus, I don't like drugging my kids (I was young and stupid then, and listened to my dr, I know better now...)
anyways...coloring books, crayons, books....the 2 year old will probably entertain himself just looking out the window, but for us the DVD player was a lifesaver....

Have built in stops every couple of hours so that not only can the kids stretch but they have something to look forward to.

Even if it's just for a few minutes. I think keeping kids that age cooped up and unable to move for hours and hours is abusive.

Yes, I don't mean museums or anything. Or even the world's largest cornstalk. Just time to stretch out, go to the bathroom. I've found on long car trips when my kids started to complain if I could tell them "we're stopping in x place at x time" they did so much better. And my kids are excellent sitters, but they still need it.
