how do beets taste in it, I cant imagine? and what kind of carrots, cooked/ raw?)

I love the beets, it tastes good in the falafel. I'm not sure how they make it because I usually dont like beets that much but these are good. I love it in the falafel!
This place also has spicy cooked carrots, its yum!

I love falafel places that let you put the food in yourself, some places they ask what you want and they do it for you, but I like to vary the amount according to what I like the most. That way I put in tons of pickles Very Happy

SaraG, why so negative about GR's idea? First of all, no one should be coming to her simcha for the food, and second of all, she didn't ask for feedback on the idea, just for suggestions to help make it better...

As I often say, I don't bite. If someone has something to say to me, no standing behind being anonymous or I don't take you seriously!

thanx again for all the replies, im actually starting to get excited about this. Smile

for those who may not like falafel, you can supply tuna or egg salad to fill the pita with-ive seen that done in pizza stores.

shanie5- thats a good idea, easy too.
and I was planning on making lots of extra of the "stuffing foods" like the french fries, israeli salad, etc, for those who prefer to just fill their plate.

(I wonder how you make those spicy cooked carrots, what spices are on them.)

SaraG- do you mean I should have bagels? why are bagels more of a treat then blintzes, falafel, and knishes? Confused

I just mean that everyone does not like felafel. And that MOST people are serving bagels since it's a likeable, versatile food.

I second shanie's idea about the tuna and egg (etc.?) to fill pitas. Having pitas be the main focus will keep a nice theme and will likely satisfy everyone. :-)

I wonder if I can somehow make this into some kind of Jewish theme and I can incorporate dessert into too.

the only thing I can think of though is filling "pockets" Confused

I also like two types of coleslaw purple cabbage coleslaw and regular cabbage and carrot coleslaw. when they have a lot of dressing it makes the falafel real juicy.

someone (non jewish) once gave me a recipe for "jacobs pockets" turns out, it was hamantaschen!!

u can use the theme "filling" and give bowls to fill with ice cream sundaes, ices, sherbert, or assorted desserts.

I like the idea of everyone making their own ice cream sundaes, thats also fun.
maybe little hot apple and cherry pies to go with the ice cream and brownies.

I think my theme is going to "Serve Yourself!" Smile Confused
or maybe: "My 3 year old is so big he should be able to serve himself, and everyone else here can too!" LOL
