I know you can substitute milk + vinegar for buttermilk. Has anyone ever done this with soymilk for a parve recipe? (I'm planning on making vanilla cupcakes with strawberry frosting, if it works out well, I will post the recipe). Thanks!

Yes. Seems to work. Levana Kirschenbaum recommends it in her dairy free cookbook.

1 T. vinegar (white) put in liquid measuring cup and add enough soy milk to make 1 cup. It works really well.
