Does anyone have a recipe for a spicy honey cake? Spicy as in tangy not Jalapeno hot.

I think most honey cakes are tangy. Between the cinnamon and the coffee in pinktichel's recipe, it definately has a spiced tang to it.

This is the recipe I make, and I love it, I hope its not too late for you
1 c oil
1 1/2 c sugar
8 eggs
1 c honey
3 c flour
2 tsp coffee dissolved into 1/2 c. hot water
1/2 tsp cinamon
3 T. orange concentrate
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
bake on 350 for 50 minutes (mine needed longer, play it by air)

couldn't sleep after the fast, so thought I'd start thinking about Succot.
Proud-mama,
your honey cake recipe sounds nice, but are there any instructions - do you separate the eggs and make a snow, combine the dry ing first, cream sugar with oil, etc.? That's a lot of eggs, honey and vanilla, and I don't want to botch it up and waste all those ingredients...

I just put everything together, I usually put 2 ingredients at a time and let it mix a bit, then the next 2 ingredients...
dont worry, its not one of those delicate cakes.
I make it in a bunt pan. Just put aluminum foil underneath just in case it drips (you dont want to clean that up from the bottom of your oven.)
When I made it this year, it needed more time, so check it before you take it out of the oven.
