1 box of fettucine noodles
1 8oz container of sour cream
half a jar of parmesean cheese
butter
milk
1 egg, beaten
salt
pepper
dried parsley to taste
boil the noodles, drain and put back in the pot on low flame. add the butter, a couple splashes of milk, the egg, parmesaen and everything else. cook until melted. its heaven

My dh made the BEST alfredo last night for dinner (we added some broccoli cuts, we've also added salmon in the past). It was a big craving of mine, we don't have it that often. Here's the recipe he used.

plus a clove of minced garlic, and he used 8 oz of Parmesan, rather than 1/4 each of parm and romano
it could have used another 4-6 oz of cream.
Very excellent, very unhealthy, and oh so yummy.
We've found that the trick to really good, authentic alfredo is to use the block of parmesan rather than the grated stuff in the jar, which has a much weaker flavor. Cream is also key. We used milk once when we couldn't find cream and it wasn't nearly as good.
