for friday night we usually have:
chala
gefilte fish
dips
chiken soup (s/t w/lukshen)
chicken+potatoe qubes
potatoe kugel
cooked veggies (for me and dc, dh doesn't realy do veggies)
for shabbos day
egg salad
lukshen kugel (warmed on the cholent pot)
framks in a blanket (also warmed on the cholent pot)
cholent
and I either put meatballs in the cholent or we have shnitzel also warmed on the chulent pot
we don't have desert but sometime after the meal we'd have tea with cake or some fruit or nush

I don't do cholent. At all. I do cold cuts only when I ran out of time to cook on Friday. I do meatballs. I do stir fry. I do leftover chicken. (Especially if I served from a whole chicken Friday night...a whole chicken feeds all of us for two meals.) Occasionally I'll do red meat. Stew. We hold like FS, and my plata is always off when I put on the food (timers are wonderful things), so I add some hot water from the urn and it doesn't stick. (Obviously if the meatballs are in the crockpot it's not necessary.)
