I have been using FB for a long time.
I use it primarily to keep in touch with people and play games like scrabble & soduku on it.
I always get invited to and get 'gifts' for farmville and other similar games.
Are people insulted that I ignore their request? Can I accept the gifts and not play the games?
I have enough shtus in my life, that I do not want to add a silly game to it.
What's you opinion?

I don't join those games either, and just ignore the requests and gifts, like I used to ignore the 'poking' etc, which thankfully seems to have died away.

Under the request on the left there is an option to block this application. Then you won't get any more requests from that game anymore.

Your friends don't know when you ignore the gifts. with some games 9ie farm ville fish ville mafia wars) the wore of your friends playing the better for you... soooooooooooooooooo if you want to be REALLY nice you add the application and never use it and your friend would get another neighbor/friend that would help them out. accepting their gifts does nothing for them the only thing it does is affect how many gifts the application is aloud to send out. 9ie if a certain percentage of invites from that application are ignored facebook will give that ap less invited per day to send (hince why you see changing sending limits)

The requests often go out to a person's entire list of friends (the program does it automatically), so they definitely won't take it personally....
And if someone needed to buy a virtual cow or chicken coop from you to win Farmville, they'd probably send a personal e-mail or request.

I find those requests aren't personal at all so I don't think they would take it personally.

It's definitely mine! (And I've converted my DH to it, as well...)
