I'm getting a group of women together for a Shavuous shiur. I'd like to have cheese and chocolate fondue. I know what goes well with chocolate. What about cheese? Crusty bread, what else? What kinds of veggies?
How can I have an evening of fondue without a fondue set? Can I just make the sauce in a regular saucepan and keep it hot on a hotplate?
Any other cute ideas for a Shavuous / Fondue event?

binah, I dont knwo where you live but you can get fondue sets for cheap at any kmart, walmart, or target. (you can check it out online too if you want.)
people do just use a pot, crockpot, or the like, instead.
I think its a nice idea, btw. hatzlacha.

Ok, so a friend just took care of the fondue set problem...she just called me to say she bought me two: one for cheese, one for chocolate. What a sweetheart!
Still, what can we dip in cheese?

I personally dont like vegetables in cheese, except maybe cherry tomatoes, but maybe something like breadsticks and different kinds of crackers?

Just make a bread, cracker, and veggie platter.
(bread sticks, flat bread, tam tams, etc.)
