I will be getting home from work about 2 hours before shabbos. Is there a REALLY EASY cake recipe that I can just whip up in 5 minutes? We are having company and don’t have proper dessert. I know there are some easy alternatives like ambrosia and ice cream pie (whipped topping frozen in a pie shell with some crushed cookies) but I don’t have any of those ingredients on hand. I only have the basics – flour, sugar, cocoa powder, chocolate chips.

TIA!!!

Pound Cake - great with whip topping (I know you dont have any), or even fresh fruit cut up. It's also good on its own. You can even make a glaze to go on top with confec. sugar, water and a drop of vanilla

6 eggs
1 cup oil
2 cup sugar
2 cup flour
2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla

mix all ingredients together. Pour into 9x13 pan or 2 round pans.

Bake at 350 until done, around 45 minutes.

Thank you! This sounds easy. Any way to "dress" this up? Maybe with choc chips? Or make it marble with some cocoa powder?

I never did, but you prab can reserve 1/3 cup batter and mix it with cocoa powder. then add it and swirl it into the batter. Or coat some choc chips in some flour and add them to the cake.....whatever u try, let me know how it comes out!
