I like substituting tapioca flour for potato starch in my baked goods but sometimes I'm a little scared to experiment too much when there's so much to be done. Does anyone have a good recipe that they know has come out good previously that is made with tapioca flour? I would love a few recipes, thanks!

You can use tapioca and potato starches interchangably.
Tapioca starch actually tastes better then potato starch.
Your recipes won't flop, don't be afraid to just substitute.
(I only bought tapioca starch this year.)

I've done this with several recipes but only when it called for a mixture of starch and matzah meal. Have you tried anything yet with tapioca flour?

The health food store said that I can use it interchageably with potato starch in Pesach cake recipes.
I hope to be making my non-gebrokts cakes tomorrow. Will let you know how they come out iyH.

I understand that potato starch is healthful; why are you using tapioca instead? I've never ever seen it even sold.

Potato starch is not healthful. Since when is lots of white potatoes healthy to consume?
To answer your question:
1. tapioca starch is considered more healthy than potato starch
2. some people are allergic or have intollerances to white potato
3. tapioca starch tastes better than potato starch

I've seen it in every frum store that I've been to so far. I don't think potato starch is healthy at all but health issues aside, the couple of times I used it I found it to be much tastier. I do not like the taste of non-gebrokts foods.

It's sold in foil packs with a big white sticker that just says Finest Tapioca Starch, kosher pesach l'mehadrin.

Rav Teitelbaum who is the Av Beis Din of Valava (?). There's a phone number on the bag, 845-537-9080 (that must be Monsey).
