My 1st was a great sleeper, my 2nd woke up for night feedings till about 8 months, but did sleep from 7pm to 7am.
My 3rd ( 8 months old) is throwing me for a loop! He is now an " improved" sleeper- passes out around 7. When my 4 year old comes in about 1/2 an hour later, pretty quietly, baby wakes up screaming, and falls back asleep about 15 minutes later. wakes to eat at 10pm, then I nurse him again any time after 5. Totally changes from night to night- never a pattern. With my other 2, there was some predictability by this age!
Other problems:
1. Sometimes wakes up screaming for no reason during the night ( checked diaper, etc.) I DON"T want to nurse him every time he wakes- he is a chubby, healthy boy, B"H- doesn't need the food!
Sometimes I think it's my 4 year old's breathing that's waking him!
2. My "policy" is that I'll feed him any time after 5. But he's managed a couple of times to go 12 hours through the night- should I try to get him used to going from 10- 6:30 without nursing? Often after nursing him at 5, he'll then have a dirty diaper and won't go back to sleep- vicious cycle.
Any suggestions/ sympathy are welcome!
