I got married a couple years ago and I got a very expensive gown made by an Italian designer.
This dress costs more money than 5 months of my rent in NYC aparment!!! I am 5'7 tall and a size 14, so as it was, it was challenging to find a gown. But, we do things like this once and I had worked hard for a few years and put away money and splurged my hard earned cash on something I felt was important then.
I offered it to two Gemachs in my neighborhood who claimed they wouldn't have any customers for this type of a gown. So I donated it to a NY Kalla Gemach where I live now. I felt that I would love to see someone enjoy this gown as much as I did. Believe me, its super gorgeous!
A few weeks ago the gemach phoned me and said they would like to know what to do with the gown as it is not moving - I will admit, it's a little different (completely tznius though)- and its taking up space. Should they throw it out????!!! Of course I went over and picked it up. This gown is worth a small fortune!
Now it is hanging in my closet. Any ideas as how to proceed further??
I would ideally like to get some $$$ for it but I wouldn't know where to start with that. All tips welcomed!

What does it look like?
I'm sure Ehrenfeld's Gemach in Brooklyn would be very happy to have it.

You could try posting it online for sale on a website like ebay or something.
Good luck!

If you post it here, a few of us may have some insight as to why it's not moving in the gemachs (certainly not because there are no size 14 kallahs out there ). It may have been just to your taste but something about it that is not a common taste. Can you put up a pic?

My computer for some reson is not letting me upload an image but the dress is off-white with lots of detail and design on the top and sleeves and puffy pink tulle skirt with pink tulle on 90% of the bottom and train!
Stunning, well not everyone thinks so! I can e-mail a photo to anyone interested in seeing.

It is gorgeous! It may just be that the pink skirt isn't for everyone. I got married in a simple 70s style white and yellow dress that no gemach would probably want either.
Would you preserve it and save it? Or else just post it for sale like people suggested.
