Well, our plans for attending a family simcha in NY have run into a hitch. We were hoping to fly back home on Friday morning, but it looks like that may not work out.
So I'm looking for some kind soul(s) who would be willing to put us up for Shabbos Balak in Brooklyn. There are five of us all together (fat, middle-aged woman with DD age 15; two DDs age 14; DS age 10. We don't have to all stay at the same place or even the same neighborhood, though I'd probably want to keep DS with me. Girls are also fine to sleep on the floor.
We eat almost anything, and we promise to bring nice gifts! We don't sing at the table or insist on foisting controversial views on our hosts. In exchange for hosting us, you will be able to regale your friends and acquaintances with hilarious stories about these bizarre people who ask for "pop" when they want a soft drink.
Please PM me if you want additional details or might have room.

Then I'd bet one of your parents was from elsewhere
All Chicagoans I know of say "pop".
It was something my DC got over very quickly when they went to yeshivos on the East Coast or seminary in EY.

Thanks for all the replies!
We ended up leaving the chassunah and driving straight home. We all changed from our chassunah clothing at a rest stop in Pennsylvania! We got home at about 2 p.m. on Friday, and I threw chicken into the oven and made a very simply Shabbos.
It was especially hard this weekend because everyone was heading up to the mountains. But everything worked out fine, and I"YH, I'll be coming back to NY in the fall for a more leisurely visit.
