My refridgerator seems to slowly be getting warmer. We just got it fixed, but how do you know if something like yogurt or eggs have gone bad? The fridge was never fully warm, just not as cold as usual. Tips?

Do you clean the coils yearly?
How old is it? If its even 3 yrs old, the new fridges use much less electricity so don't feel too bad if youre stuck getting a new one.

oops that was me, but I havent a clue other than smelling the food. I think there is something about freshness of eggs tested by if they float in water or not, but I'm not sure.

I live in an apartment so they just keep refixing it eventhough I keep requesting a new one. Last time I had to throw away tons of food! And I have a ton of yogurt and eggs right now so I'm hoping they don't all have to go to waste!

I always rented an apt & had a rotten fridge. it doesn't cost that much to get your own.
landlords hate to relace major appliances.

Try sticking a thermometer in the fridge. This is what I did with mine when I wasnt sure if it was working properly. Normal temperature should be around 38 degrees F. Otherwise, it is too warm and things will start to go bad.
Try adjusting the thermostat in the fridge to get it to be colder. Be aware that after changing the fridge's thermostat, it may take a couple of days to adjust.
If this doesnt work you may have a problem...
