My ds is b'h pefectly fine and functions to 100%, but he has many health issues. He needed one of his arteries fixed, has a lazy eye, and other 'minor' health issues that are not the typical.
Is it because of something he didn't get in-utero or what?? is it an all or nothing?

I'm sorry...B"H he will be fine. I don't know if something happened to your son in utero or if it is genetic, but I hope you aren't blaming yourself. Much of this stuff happens because it happens.
Your child's doctor is the one to ask these questions, s/he can not only answer your questions best, but can direct you to proper counseling regarding future children.
If you are asking philosophically; often one thing implies another. Our bodies are interconnected in ways aren't always aware of; it isn't surprising that a child with one health condition has several others as well.

Not everything can be traced yet to a genetic cause however you should refrain from the old school thinking of the ‘refrigerator mom’ and other theories. It’s not fair to you and all of us.

Health doesn't have to be all or nothing, but medical issues could be connected one to another. Are you asking if your child's issues could be connected?
Maybe something happened (or didn't happen) in utero. Maybe DNA from his father and mother that had issues with each other got together at his conception. (I mean taht the DNA didn't interact great, not that the parents were arguing.) Maybe his medical complications are all separate and "random".
