I'm almost positive that you say "orandz" in yiddish for orange but can someone tell me how to spell it? If it matters, its for colored crayons to hang in my classroom with the names of the colors on
Thanks!

Actually, I believe it is "marantz" and it would be spelled mem/aleph/reish/aleph/nun/tzadik-sofit. Hope this helps!

The color isn't called marantz. I'm not sure the color in correct yiddish is orange or whatever.

you're right, I apologize, I read too quickly and hit reply without paying much attention. the color orange is oranz - I believe, although I'm not 100% sure that the spelling would be aleph/reish/aleph/nun/tzadik-sofit

Are you sure that that's what it's called in Yiddish? I'd be surprised as it's a clear translation of Hebrew. I wonder what the color orange is called in German.

Orange fruit (noun) = מאראנץ, פאמעראנץ
Orange color (adj) = אראנזש

I just found your translation in Google Translate. And while I was at that site, I checked the German translation of 'orange'. This is what came up:
noun = orange or apfelsine
adjective = orange or orangefarben
