Anyone done research on different types of water filters that could help me decide which one is best?

It would be greatly appreciated.

It would depend on what you want the filter for. Bugs? Off taste? Toxic organic solvents? Rust? Just plain dirt?

I want a water filter for unhealthy chemicals, toxins, etc. that could be in the water.
