I want to make lots of kugels and cakes and then freeze them for Yom Tov.
How do I defrost the food so that it will taste the freshest? (dont know if thats a word, lol)
I usually defrost in fridge the night before but then I heard to just place in oven frozen on 350 for a 1/2 hour...
Any tips would be great. Thanks!

cake - take out of freeze, leave it foil and ziploc wrapping; leave on counter until defrosted. cake will be moist this way.
potato kugel - place kugel covered in foil in oven on low temperature until fully defrosted. then higher temperature for a bit
