Onion relish, what to do with it

I plan on making a sweet and sour onion relish, but I don't know what to do with it. Makes sense? No, but I'm doing it anyway Rolling Eyes . Do you think it's something that can be eaten plain or it has to be with something? This is what I'm making:
onions, water, vinegar, sugar, salt, mayo, celery seed (anyone know what I can use instead of this because I don't have any?) It's not cooked, but it has to marinade for at least 3 hours.

lol, u sound just like me! THe recipe looks good so why not try it?

How about as a dip for challah or on gefilte fish?

Serve it over little pieces of homemade toast (or giant croutons from KBD) at the beginning of the meal?
