I know many threads exist on dips. but I have yet to find a really easy, canned recipe. I only have red peppers in my fridge not green...and im not into the hot peppers. I have canned diced, whole, crushed tomatoes ready to be used so if someone can help me out I would really appreciate it.

Here is a dip my Grandmother made.
2 onions chopped
2 green or red peppers chopped
4 stalks of celery or thinly sliced carrots if you do not have celery
1 (30 oz) can of crushed tomatoes
1(6 oz) can of tomatoe paste
one head of garlic, crushed
juice of 1/2 a lemon
1 tablespoon cumin
salt to taste and a teaspoon sugar (taste and skip sugar if you like the taste)
Hope it works for you ,It's a big hit here served with fish as sauce or just as a dip
brown onion ,add veggies cook for a while ...
It comes out awesome

I make a really easy, tasty Matboucha:
- 1 can whole tomatoes with spices + seasonings, drained
- 1 green pepper, diced,
- a couple of crushed cloves of garlic ( I use the pre-minced, abot a TBSP, I would say it's around 3 cloves- but you should adjust this to your preference)
Bring to a boil in a med. pot, and mash the tomatoes. As the liquid evaporates, lower teh heat, and let it simmer till all the liquid evaporats( about 30 minutes for me)
