Hi, I have a 8 week old baby that will sleep 3-6 hours at night at a time. I know that 3 or 4 is normal but is 5 or 6 bad? Should I wake her up? IF she is gaining weight then do I still need to worry? Please help me I am a first time mother.

thanks

as long as your baby is gaining nicely no need to wake him up! mine slept 7 hours at night as a newborn!

that is not sleeping too much at 8 weeks. they can sleep longer than that even and be fine. the baby will make up for it at the next feeding and during the day.

one of my kids slept 12 hour nights at 6 weeks.

that is totally normal, just be happy and enjoy that you have a good sleeper, bli eyin hara.

you should be going to the doctor for the 2 month check up around now so mention it, plus it's a good idea to ask questions now that make you feel like your "stupid" this way you get that "but s/he is going to think I'm a bad parent and so stupid if I ask that" idea out of your head, never be afraid to ask your pediatrician anything.
