I just weaned my 8 month old from bf and I'm starting him on formula. How much formula does an 8 month old have to drink per day? He eats solids too.

What kind of solids does your child eat?
How many meals a day?
My dd takes 6oz of formula approx 5 times a day between meals and before sleep.

He eats oatmeal cereal, squash, sweet potato, mashed potato, applesauce.

Does he look satisfied after a meal? Try 6oz bottles at a time, but not right after a meal, and see his reaction. I give my dd a half cup water to drink after food and formula bottles later after meals. Which is usually before nap time. See how much your ds drinks and how much he leaves over in the bottle. Keep track of the timing, day or evening. You should have it out in a week.
