I was at the dr today with my 2yr old dd and the dr told me she has tons of wax in her ears and I should get rid of it by putting a dropperful of hydrogen peroxide in her ears every night for a week and it will take care of it.... just wondering anyone ever try this? I did it tonight very reluctantly and she was screaming that it hurt... are there any other ways to get it out?

I've done this. I was reluctant to try it because it was very painful for my neice, but ds didn't complain at all.
I'm guessing that eardrops that are prescribed for an ear infection would do the same thing.

Yes, it tickles, And it makes a snap crackle pop noise in the ear canal. It does not hurt, only feels a bit funny. All the ear drops out there are 95% hydrogen peroxide. peroxide is WAY cheaper then Murine drops.

If you think it may hurt you can do it on yourself, you'll see it doesn't hurt. I have done it many times.

We've done it for my daughter as well, as per the pediatrician's instructions.
I always have dh do it, because she puts up a fuss about it, and he is just better at these kinds of things.

We've taken DD to a ENT specialist, she used some thin wire like instrument to take out the glob of earwax (sorry it sounds gross). I'm also nervous about putting liquid inside ears.
