Aspirin. Europeans know that Aspirin is a trademark owned by Bayer. Bayer lost the tm in the US after WW1.

Most famous case of losing trademark as a result of generic use => escalator.

True to game, my personal favorite trademark no one knows is a trademark? Bubble Wrap.

people call their keyboards a casio or they call it a yamaha. it's the name of the company
